The new Signature photobook by bubu not only looks special from the outside (open back, smooth trim), but also shines with special inner values. In addition to the flatbook binding and the exclusive uncoated paper - both also known from the photo book Premium Flat - it is not least the signature layout designed by designer Mireille Burkhardt that makes this photobook almost a design classic.
Mireille knows what she is talking about. After all, she is not only the owner of a design company in London, but also the granddaughter of Bubu founder Albert Burkhardt and an enthusiastic photobook designer. Five double pages with Mireille's layout for unusual picture stories are presented here.
That's very nice to see on this double page. Several small photos of the constantly changing scenery convey a dynamic that is still supported by the asymmetrical layout. The typically exuberant childlike emotions captured in the pictures also bear witness to a beautiful day on the beach.
In principle, you only have to press the trigger twice. To be on the safe side, it's best to take one continuous shot and select the best two, or even more. This double page also gives the pictures space, lets them "breathe". This will significantly enhance the impressive effect of the overall image, i.e. the double page.
Sometimes a single picture that speaks volumes and captivates the viewer is enough. On the one hand there is the great balance between the persons to the right in front, the pool, which directs the view to the back of the picture, and the sun, whose captured glow of light in turn penetrates to the front and also crosses the left side of the picture. For the observer, this is literally perceptible. In addition, there is the witty pose into which the depicted have entered. One thinks to recognize a proverbial wink. A picture that functions like a painting from the 19th century.
This double page plays with opposites. This is exactly why the three pictures as a whole are worth seeing, although the faces of the people are not visible. Opposites on the one hand between left and right side; two small pictures on the left in exciting contrast to the full size photo on the right. On the other hand of course the contrast between the bodies of the depicted and their heads, in this picture oversized watermelon waterballs. Also these pictures sparkle with cheerfulness, although one does not see anyone laughing.
Also here this beautiful pattern is to be seen, with which on this double page tension is produced: Opposites. Four small pictures on the left (the cross resulting from the arrangement additionally attracts the eye) compared to two large pictures on the right, which in this case have been moved apart, upwards and downwards, which has the nice effect that the two pictures can work for themselves without competing with each other. Then, of course, there are the color compositions, which are different from each other, but still harmonize well with each other. Here, too, a dynamic field of tension is created, which experiences depth through the sincere children's photos.
