The people behind the products
There are moments, feelings and people in our lives that are very special. They trigger something in us, light up our world and make life worth living. We, the team at Bookfactory, do everything we can to ensure that such moments can be preserved and revived for as long as possible with our products. For us, every individual product is something unique, because we see the story and emotion behind it.
Social responsibility
We have been certified by the consultancy firm EcoVadis. This was not only about environmental issues, but also broadly about the topic of corporate social responsibility. By answering a questionnaire covering a wide range of topics from the areas of the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement, we provided EcoVadis with the basis for the assessment. EcoVadis recognised our above-average performance in all areas examined and awarded us a bronze award.
Bookbinding expertise
Bookfactory is part of Bubu AG. The family business Bubu was founded in 1941 and has been based in Mönchaltorf (ZH) for around 40 years. Every Bookfactory photo book therefore contains the dedication, experience and quality of three generations of bookbinding expertise.

Wherever possible, we source our raw materials, products, packaging and services locally, as we attach great importance to supporting our regional and national suppliers. We see our suppliers as long-term partners who accompany us on our journey. For us, cooperation is friendship and trust. It goes without saying that we listen to each other and find a solution together.
Our suppliers supply us with products that are as sustainable as possible and, like us, strive to constantly improve quality. For example, all the paper, wood products and cardboard we use are FSC certified wherever possible. The FSC certificate is awarded to forests and plantations that are managed according to strict ecological and social principles. This should help to ensure that forests can be preserved in the long term. One of our papers, Refutura, is also FSC recycled certified. The FSC recycled label stands for products that contain only recycled material.
Emissions from electricity, waste and more
When processing the materials, we also treat the environment with care and respect. We are constantly finding new solutions to save electricity. We replace machines, install new lighting systems or exchange air compressors. We find solutions to reduce emissions from waste. Our waste is strictly separated, sorted and recycled. Our percentage of waste is therefore very low. Every new employee is trained and made aware of strict separation. We digitise, we reduce business travel and we offer the possibility to work in a home office.

Bubu AG, and therefore Bookfactory, takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations. You have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipient, the purpose of data processing, as well as the right to correct, block or delete this data.

Diversity is a matter of course for us, because with us you are human. There is no place for discrimination. Discrimination on the grounds of race, ethnic origin, gender, religion, disability, age or sexual identity is not tolerated in our company. We are currently training 8 apprentices. Our employees come from 12 different nations. Respect and equal treatment are indispensable and commonplace for us. The equal pay analysis has shown that there is no differentiation or gender effect in the remuneration either.
